Progress Bars in Your Video

Ever wonder how much time is left in the video? Or a specific segment in a video? Let your viewers know by adding a progress bar to your video. In the video below, we take a look at how to add two different types of progress bars to your videos using Final Cut Pro

Bottom of the Screen

In the first part of our video, we take a look at how to add a simple Line Progress Bar at the bottom of the video. This is very simple to do, and doesn’t require any custom plugins or add ons. You simply use one of the built-in generators, and adjust it by cropping and keyframing the crop parameter. Simple, yet very effective.

Circular Progress Bar

In the second part of our video, we learn how to add a circular progress bar, stop-watch style. This does require an additional generator plugin, the Better Shapes Generator from 1913Media, which can be downloaded free of charge here. Install this in your Motion Templates folder, and follow the instructions in the video to add a circular progress bar seen in the image below.
